An arrest has been in made in the shooting we reported over the weekend. From RPD Press Release
On Monday, March 4th, the U.S. Marshals Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested a 15 year old male wanted in connection with a shooting that occurred over the weekend.
He has been charged with 3 felonies and 1 misdemeanor:
- Attempted Murder
- Aggravated Malicious Wounding
- Use of a firearm in the commission of a felony
- Possession of a firearm by a juvenile (misdemeanor)
He is being held in the Chesterfield County Juvenile Detention Center.
Investigators say at approximately 9:50 p.m., Saturday, March 3rd, the offender shot a 16 year old male in the 1100 block of Decatur Street as the victim was walking home from a large teen party in the 1300 block of Hull Street. The two had exchanged words prior to the shooting. Both teens had attended the party. The victim remains hospitalized with multiple gunshot wounds.
The Richmond Police Department wants to remind parents of teenaged children to ask several questions about teen parties their children ask to attend:
- Who is giving the party?
- Who will be attending?
- What is the age-range of the attendees?
- Who will be supervising?
- Will there be security?
- How long will it last?
