Work with Westover Hills United Methodist to help local students

In partnership with a social worker assigned to George Wythe, Armstrong and Huguenot High Schools, Westover Hills UMC will be hosting an after-school academic enhancement program for students living in non-permanent housing situations, a program that will rely exclusively on volunteers.  Together with many community groups across the area, Westover Hills United Methodist will provide tutoring, life skill training, college prep, computer literacy, and a nutritious meal, which sadly, is not something they always get.  The program will begin on October 23 and will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2 – 5pm through out the school year.  Many volunteers are needed to support these students.  And no specific skills are needed in order to serve as a volunteer, as training and support will be provided.  If you are interested in helping these kids and serving our community, please complete the volunteer application (also here is a job description) and return it returned by hand or mail to Academic Enhancement Program, c/o WHUMC, 1705 Westover Hills Boulevard, Richmond, Virginia 23225, or by email to HVAcademic@verizon.net  MVAcademic@verizon.net.
