Adopt a flamingo to help Fisher Elementary

As parents of a school age child living in a country that doesn’t fully fund schools we are constantly bombarded by various fundraisers schemes from magazines to cookie dough. Finally from Fisher there is a fundraiser that I’m 100% behind.

Fisher Elementary’s mascot (for reasons I’ll never know) is the Fisher Flamingo. To show your support of Fisher Elementary the students are asking that you adopt as many of the pink plastic birds as you think your neighbors can stand and proudly display them in your yard. The flamingos are 1 for $8.00 or 2 for $12.00. Contact Westover Hills resident/Fisher parent Sydney Lyons ( jynxlyons@gmail.com or cell is 804-370-1891) if you would like a colorful addition to your yard. Sydney will even drop the birds off at your house for you. Cash is prefered but a checks written out to J.B.Fisher PTA will also be accepted.

It should be noted that I already have 7 flamingos in my yard and plan to add 2 more to the flock be thankful you’re not my neighbor. As an added bonus here is some plastic flamingo triva for you: The pink lawn ornament was invented in 1957 by Don Featherstone and when they first hit stores, the birds cost $2.76 a pair.
