Custom kale chips at Camden’s

Kale chips have reappeared at Camden’s Dogtown Market in Manchester. The garlicky Sante Fe hatch chile flavored variety were dehydrated for 14 hours at 115 degrees, so they’re what you would call a ‘raw food.’ The nutrients have not been degraded by cooking. Jason Guard, once known as RVAfoodie, is behind these healthy snacks. They’re $5 for a 2oz bag. He says they’re more expensive at health food stores and often weighed down by filler ingredients. Unique flavors consisting of quality ingredients are Guard’s signature. Moroccan themed, sour cream and onion, al pastor, Thai curry spiced, and BBQ are all possible varieties to come as kale harvesting season ramps up. Guard is also looking for a source of local kale, competitively priced, and delivered to his doorstep on a weekly basis.
