Richmond man convicted in Manchester murders
From RTD:
A Richmond jury recommended 46 years in prison for a man authorities say “executed” two brothers in a dispute over dog feces left outside a Manchester apartment.
The Richmond Circuit Court jury deliberated for nearly two hours Monday night before finding Darryl Lamont Jefferson (seen above), 37, of Richmond, guilty of two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of use of a firearm in a felony.
The panel recommended 20 years for each murder charge and three years for each firearm charge. Formal sentencing was set for Dec. 10.

only 46 years?
He’s not been sentenced yet. Terms could be concurrent, which means an actual sentence of 23 years. But if he is sentenced to consecutive terms, and serves the minimum, he would be 70 before he could be paroled. Of course, his victims got a death sentence.
I was on the jury yesterday that convicted him and sentenced him. I just wanted to clarify that the terms are not concurrent. We actually asked the judge that question, specifically, before deciding his sentence. There is no “minimum” with the sentence; he has to serve the entire 46 years, which will mean he will be 83 yrs old when/if he ever gets out.
I would encourage jurors NOT to identify themselves. There have been instances of retaliation in other places.
Sundagger,
That is kind of hard when they read your name during jury sleection whil ethe defendent is there. I could not believe they were doing that the last time (about a month ago) I was brought in as a posisble jurist. If I ever do get put on the jury and they read my name aloud I am going to ask not to be on the jury for that very reason.
