Tree down in Patrick Henry parking lot

One third of a massive tree located in the Patrick Henry parking lot fell in last night’s storm. Fortunately no damage to the school or any vehicles. The school called out the city to see if they could get some help with clean up but were told that since this is on RPS property it is RPS’ problem.

Both the city and RPS had checked out the tree last week and agreed that it was a hazard. The solution at that time was to set up the cones you see in the picture and have Patrick Henry call Parks and Recreation Department since technically the parking lot is on their property.  As of 10:30 no efforts have been made to remove either the fallen tree or the remaining damaged tree but calls are into RPS and a representative is suppose to be checking it out.
