Parakeet found in Manchester
I get a lot of reports for lost pets but this is my first bird.
I work on Semmes Ave at UPS Freight. While outside taking a break this evening (Monday), I found a parakeet. He was easy to catch, and seems to be uninjured. I’d like to get him back to his owner.Would you post a message for me on Hill and Heights?
Found: Tame parakeet. Near Semmes Ave and 12th St. Call Susan at 804.349.3255 if he (she?) is yours.
“@HillsHeights: Parakeet found in Manchester: http://t.co/VJQWXSYl Not kidding. Are you missing a bird? #rva”
Found budgie alert!
There were fliers up for the longest time about a missing parakeet a while back. — there was one on a phone pole at the corner of 45th and Riverside, and another at Semmes & 7th. I don’t know if they’re still there, or legible. Will check.
Hi,
I am a volunteer with 911 Parrot Alert, an international group
dedicated to reuniting lost companion birds with their people.
Your Craiglist listing has been cross-posted to our lost and
found bird database http://911parrotalert.com (NOT to be
confused with Parrotalert.com which is UK based). We have
listings for lost and found birds, organized by location, type
and date, with new entries daily. This is a free service provided by
volunteers with a passion for pet birds.
I’ve included a list of resources below, where you can search for
matching “lost” birds in your area, or post a “found” ad for your
bird.
If you are not able to identify the type use this link for reference http://www.911parrotalert.com/species
or http://www.911parrotalert.com/species/parrot-species-by-color/
You may also want to drive around your neighborhood to see
if anyone has posted a lost bird flyer. It wouldn’t hurt to check
with nearby pet stores, vet offices and shelters/rescues to see
if anyone has reported a lost bird.
It might help to post some ‘found bird’ flyers as well … giving
limited details so that the owner is required to ID their lost bird.
Feel free to use the 911PA website to search lost bird listings.
Let’s hope the owner can be found.
Wishing you the best of luck! Please let us know if we may be of
assistance, and please also share the good news when your bird has
been reunited with its owner.
Best Regards,
Retta, Volunteer
