Hit and run driver ends up hit in face
Details are in this morning’s RTD. It appears a 62-year-old man was either intoxicated or otherwise impaired and was involved in a hit and run around 6 p.m. on Jeff Davis Highway. Then things got interesting.
About 35 minutes later, the motorist was waiting at a traffic light at Cowardin and Semmes avenues and apparently felt that a driver behind him was following him, Crowder said. So the motorist got out and went to the vehicle behind him, brandished a knife and began yelling at the driver of that vehicle and waving the knife at him, Crowder said.
She said the driver of the second vehicle got out and punched the knife-wielding motorist, who fell to the ground.
It is also worth mentioning that the man that got punched is in critical condition due to a head wound. Personally, if I’m in a car and someone comes after me with a knife, I roll up the windows and drive away while calling the cops.
Richard, I second your non-confrontation, get-away strategy!
I love the first comment on the RTD story.
Knockout punch!
Not saying violence is the answer, but sometimes confronting it head on is more effective than running away. The old man got what he asked for. One punch took a violent drunk driver off the street for a while, and that is not a bad thing.
