Volunteers rally to work on Buttermilk
Nature threw trail users a curve ball. Local volunteers swung back and knocked it out of the ball park. From RTD;
The group of more than 30 volunteers, including runners, hikers, mountain bikers, and trail enthusiasts, were sweaty and dirty by the time they finished removing the narrow path, called a “skinny.” They also repaired and leveled the main trail, restoring it to working order in less than two hours.
“Many hands really do make light work,” Burrell said.

I hadn’t run on the trails in a long time (probably over a year) but went for a run recently. They were already very nice and well maintained last time I had run but they are even better now.
The work done on the trails is really craftmanship of a bygone era. Stonework, bridges, leveling and contouring to fit the existing ground. Easy to tell even while running that this is not easy work and that a lot of pride went into doing it.
