Tot Lot Fundraiser tonight at O’Toole’s
Everybody, come on down to O’Toole’s on Monday, July 9, from 5 to 9 p.m. to enjoy a great meal and beverage—AND to support the renovations of the Westover Hills Tot Lot. O’Toole’s will donate 15% of all receipts from that evening that are left in the basket marked “tot lot.” Fundraising for the playground improvements is almost complete, so this event could push the campaign over the top. “Thanks to all who have donated to the renovation of the Westover Hills Tot Lot! We are happy to say that we are nearly across the finish line with our fundraising effort. In fact, we are so close that we have placed the order for the equipment, which should be installed in just a few weeks. Very soon, you will begin to see changes to the playground as a small pine tree is removed (thank you True Timber Tree Service!), two new shade trees are planted (thank you Sneed’s nursery for donating trees and labor!), and the old equipment is gradually removed. The firetruck will be removed in order to replace a few rotting boards, then will be re-installed. We will need many hands to prepare the area to receive the new equipment. If you are able to help in any way, please send an email to Westover Hills UMC, westoverhillsumc@verizon.net, or leave a message on the Westover Hills Tot Lot facebook page. Updates will be found on Facebook page and the Westover Hills UMC website,www.westoverhillsumc.org. We ask for your patience, as there may be days in the next month where the playground will be closed as the work is completed. Other upgrades will take place in August, and we are planning a dedication celebration in the fall. Stay tuned!

We’re here having dinner right now. Great turnout! If you come please be patient with the staff as they seem a bit overwhelmed as Monday is usually a slow night. Thanks to O’Tooles for doin this!
Great to have neighborhood merchants like John O’Toole, who care and are involved.
Turn out may have been too good for normal Monday night staff levels. I love O’Toole’s and will continue to patronize them, but we ended up leaving last night after sitting at our table for half an hour and no one even came by to take our drink order. We left a donation for the playground and went home to get our daughter some food.
Thanks so much to O’toole’s for sponsoring this fundraiser. It was a huge success! And thanks to all the folks who came to dine and support the tot lot. Turnout ws indeed so unexpectedly large that it the staff was having trouble keeping up . .so thanks for everyone’s patience!
