I live a little farther out, off Windsorview two blocks from Forest Hill Ave. It was nonstop lightning and thunder for about an hour and a quarter, very impressive. I see from Lisa’s video that your neighborhood still had power last night. We lost ours at 10:53 pm Friday night, and got it back at 10:20 am this morning, thank goodness. I grew up in South Florida, and this past Saturday in Richmond was a real blast from the past. No a/c, no fans, nothing but shade and cold footbaths to get us through! We’re lucky that the Shell up on Forest Hill managed to keep a steady supply of ice – we surely needed it! We’ve taken six or seven small power hits since it came back on, and I’m as nervous as a cat in a roomful of rocking chairs, but so far so good. And at that, we’re among the lucky ones who got power back fairly quickly – well, relatively so, considering the temperatures.
