Rumors of Redskin training facility in our area
City Stadium, the Sports Backers complex, Virginia Union University, and University of Richmond are fairly logical choices to locate the Redskin training facility but I was a little surprised to see a spot in H&H make the list of possible spots. I’m not giving this rumor very much credence due to how much it would cost to convert the area but I’ve been wrong before. From a CBS6 report.

I also think it’s odd that CBS6 uses Stony Point Shopping Center as a reference point. Is that the only landmark that folks north of the river can relate to?
Less north of the river and more “surrounding counties”.
Are they referring to the parcel that is across the RR tracks? There isn’t much land to work with north of the tracks but behind Target.
BTW, the link cites a property near Stony Point SS AND the site behind Target.
Do they mean Stoney Point Mall, or SS? Do they know the difference?
The section of the CBS6 article appears to have been updated and now references two south side locations:

Glad they cleared that up. I’d hate to have to walk from Stony Point Shopping Center to the Target off of Forest Hill Avenue, especially in this weather!
