Free money to make your yard watershed friendly
Reedy Creek Coalition and Alliance for the Chesapeake Bay have teamed up to make it easier for you to make your yard help the local watershed. They have intiated a Financial Incentive Program that will cover the cost or most of the costs of best management practices including; rain barrels, tree plantings, rain gardens, bayscapes, and pervious surfaces. The only catches are that you must be part of the Reedy Creek watershed and have an audit done of your property. Then it’s just a matter of getting the proper paper work filled and you’re good to go.

This is a phenomenal offer! I put a rain garden in my front yard a few years ago. It’s easy, beautiful, and when it rains, the water stays where it lands and soaks into the water table instead of making a river down my street.
