Provide input on regional transportation plan tonight

From the Partnership for Smarter Growth we’re informed of a chance to let our voices be heard on what direction we take in moving people and goods in and around RVA in the coming years.

The Richmond Area Metropolitan Planning Organization (RAMPO) is developing plan2035, the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) for the Richmond Region. The LRTP is a financially constrained plan for improving connectivity and mobility to benefit economic and community development in the Region, advancing the planning targets of the federal Safe, Accountable, Flexible, Efficient Transportation Equity Act: a Legacy for Users (SAFETEA-LU) transportation program.

Draft Plan Released for Public Comment
On May 14, the draft plan2035 was released to the public – available download and in print at 17 locations throughout the Richmond Region. The plan2035 Advisory Committee will also be hosting a public information session this Wednesday, June 6th (see details below) to provide details and respond directly to questions.

The plan2035 Advisory Committee seeks public input to ensure the regional transportation plan:

  • improves connectivity and mobility,
  • benefits economic and community development, and
  • advances regional projects and programs for federal and state transportation funds.
