2nd man charged in Manchester double homicide
A second Richmond man now faces murder charges in the fatal shooting of two brothers in a dispute over dog feces left in front of a Manchester apartment.
The Richmond area’s multijurisdictional grand jury on Wednesday indicted Darryl Lamont Jefferson, 37, of the 2400 block of Coles Street, with two counts of first-degree murder in the April 18 shootings of Ahmad K. Phillips, 24, and Ahkeem K. Phillips, 28, both of Richmond.
Several members of the Phillips family moved to the Richmond area after losing their home in New Orleans when Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005. Now the victims’ mother, Roslyn Phillips, is in the process of moving back to New Orleans to live with surviving family members.
“My boys were murdered,” she said Thursday evening. “I have nothing else in Richmond.”
