Lesson learned: don’t live on a street with a color in it’s name. Oh and maybe don’t leave $100 and/or a laptop in plain view. FFS. My theory is the thieves who stole in-dash stereos have been in jail or about 15 years and don’t realize no one cares steals those anymore.

I love this “plain view” stuff. That’s a new deal I think.

A house was broken into in the 1200 block of W. 46th Monday afternoon. The homeowner came home to find the thieves still in the house.

This guy knocked on my door on Tuesday around mid day. I answered the door with a (loaded) gun clearly in my hand. The kid literally ran away as I explained to him about all the recent home break ins, I called 911, as you should ALWAYS do when someone suspicious comes to your door. Thank God I work from home and have several large dogs who bark at strangers, or else I’m positive our house would have been on this list. Get a dog, gun, or alarm system folks, this is the time of year criminals come out of the woodwork. Happened just the same last year with all the armed hold ups of neighbors going out to their cards at “normal” hours. Stay aware folks. ‘Tis the season for robbing.

Also, please don’t bother with the non-emergency number (646-5100). These are becoming emergencies and we need *fast* response from the police; just call 911.
