Arrests made in 2011 murder near Pony Pasture on Riverside Drive
Continuing our “Up with People” theme this morning we get news that two sixteen year olds have been arrested in the murder of a eighteen year old. If you need me I’ll be in the closet rocking back and forth.
After an in-depth investigation, Richmond Police investigators have arrested two people in connection with the homicide of a 18-year-old boy at the Pony Pasture last fall.
On July 24, 2011, at approximately 4:26 a.m., officers found Osbin Noel Hernandez-Gonzales dead the 8200 block of Riverside Drive . He had been shot several times.
This past Friday, Feb. 17, Richmond Police detectives arrested two juvenile males, both 16 years old, in connection with this homicide.
The teens have been charged with first degree murder along with numerous other felonies and are currently being held in Richmond Juvenile Detention. Detectives are still actively investigating this case.
Law enforcement agencies from Richmond , Chesterfield and the FBI worked together to make these arrests.
It’s splitting a small hair, but the 8200 Block would not be at Pony Pasture, which is about th 7100 block. I thought the body was found closer to the Huguenot Bridge.
Glad to hear arrests have been made but wow, 16 years old!? The victim was a student of mine and now I’m thinking I may know the shooters as well…
I assume names have been withheld because they are minors?
Title fixed per David’s point. I assume the same Whitney.
Update in today’s T-D. Gang related, MS 13.
Kudos to the RPD for getting scum like this out of our neighborhood.
I live between Pony Pasture & the Wetlands. I do not like the fact that Pony Pasture has turned into a hang-out for the Latino population and that they speed down Longview to get to and from the beach area.
I know I am generalizing but knowing that this murder was gang-related and MS 13 is a Latino gang, it’s pretty hard not to connect the dots!
