Lucille Brown Middle School student brings gun to school

A sixth-grader at Lucille M. Brown Middle School in South Richmond was caught Wednesday with an unloaded gun at the school, police said.

Richmond police spokeswoman Karla Peters said that officers were summoned to the school in the afternoon to investigate a report of a student in possession of a gun and that a 12-year-old male student was found with a handgun.

The student was charged with possession of a concealed weapon, Peters said.

“There was no fight; there was no altercation,” Peters added.
