Local K-Mart K’Oed
It isn’t exactly in the H&H area but it is definitely near enough to warrant a post. From RTD;
Sears Holdings Corp., a pillar of American retailing that famously began with a mail-order catalog in the 1880s, said Tuesday that it would no longer prop up “marginally performing” locations. The company pledged to refocus its efforts on stores that make money.
Today the holding company published a list of stores slated for closing. No dates or details were released.
The Virginia stores slated for closing so far are Kmart stores at 11003 Hull Street in Midlothian and 6807 Midlothian Turnpike in Richmond, as well as the Sears store at 880 N. Military Highway in Norfolk.
No date for the closing is set.

The Midlo location has looked closed for years. They should tear it down and reforest it. Midlo doesn’t need on more abandoned building or strip mall it already looks enough like a set from Mad Max.
Future indoor paintball arena or indoor farm/nursery?
I preferred shopping there to our area Walmart.
Similar stock, same pricing, no crowds.
I’ll miss the store.
The last time I shopped there, the staff was really very friendly and the floor, despite being very aged and patched tile, was clean and well cared for. It just seemed like corporate hadn’t cared to maintain it much. Wish they had chosen to renovate and update it instead.
