Police Asking for Help on Break-ins

Local Lt. Stephen McQuail is asking, is for us to keep an extra vigilant eye out for suspicious activity. The RPD is definitely aware of the speak in break-ins and is working hard in the neighborhood to find the folks committing the crime but the more eyes we have from the neighborhood, the better chance of catching the offenders. Folks need to keep an eye on back and side doors, as well as the alleys. If you are going to be gone over this holiday week let your neighbors know when you’ll be gone so they’ll know to keep an extra special eye out on those dates. If something does not seem right please call right away! The emergency number is 911 and the non emergency number is 646-5100.

From RTD;

Richmond police are investigating a rash of burglaries in the Westover Hills area, including two Saturday morning along New Kent Road.

Investigators said that over two days about 12 break-ins had been reported in the South Richmond neighborhood.

Police said burglars kicked in doors at two houses Saturday, stealing a laptop computer from one and two television sets from the other. The burglars apparently wore gloves because they did not leave fingerprints, police said.

Items taken in other burglaries included cash and jewelry.
