Suspicious Characters Spotted
From Katie, one of our areas many CrimeWatch Captains.
Suspicious People from 2 different neighbors, might/might not be the same people: If you see someone matching the description please call the police 646-5100.
First Neighbor:
Two men were checking out the heat pump at 818 Westover Hills Blvd today around 11:20 am. I saw them messing with the heat pump and then they walked up onto the back porch. They were REALLY unhappy that a dog was barking – the younger one was yelling at him to shut up, was mumbling threats, and said he hated the dog barking like that, that it was just like a motion sensor! Description of the two guys: both white, with normal/short hair. One was middle-aged/older with white hair and mustache/beard and wearing a baby blue sweatshirt. The other was much younger, probably in his 20s, with light brown hair (no facial hair) and wearing a tan sweatshirt with dark brown sleeves, carrying a Mountain Dew bottle. He was kinda nervous and was upset about the dog.The cops were very helpful and said it sounds like they are probably going to come back to steal it, that they were just checking it out first.
Second Neighbor:
A man came to “clean gutters” and seems very suspicious. White Male, about 5’7″, 135 lbs, covered in tattoos that look gang related, lt brown hair, cut short – crew cut. No facial hair. CLaimed to have 3 kids and needed money.

That tattooed guy (or someone similar) was rang my doorbell this week in the morning. He seemed jumpy and looked slightly angry so I chose not to engage with him. I sometimes will ask thru the locked door why people are at my door – but usually not.
I was just trying to make a few bucks people, sheesh.
Not funny Pedro.
Totally funny, Pedro!
I saw that older guy around crossroads last week. He had the blue sweatshirt and a gold chain when I almost hit him in the middle of the street. He fit the descriptions exactly. Stared me down as I passed.
Today, I witnessed a middle-age+ black guy, in an old, beat up blue pickup, go up onto my neighbor’s property and pick up a firepit that was not trash, and was not anywhere near the trash or property line. I hollered at him to put it back, and he did and then beat it back to his truck. He and his truck fit the description of someone who stole a huge vintage metal window and my fire wood holder out of my yard a couple of months ago — clearly up in my yard, not by the trash. So irritating.
This is weird. I was working on Caledonia this morning, and the guy described above came by. Stopped across the street, where workers were installing vinyl siding. He picked up yard waste, sticks, brush, etc. and drove off. But I had seenm him earlier driving down an alley. Short version: if you see someone taking stuff from your yard or neighbors yard, cll 911. They can sort it out. It’s okay to do this. RPD is very good at sorting this out.
Totally funny.
I spotted three undesirables walking along Dunston Ave near W 45th ST on Friday afternoon. They were checking out cars and going down the alleys and looking into backyards. I made sure they noticed my truck and followed them until they sped off down Forest Hill toward Broadrock Blvd. I was frustrated to find that my call to Police went unanswered. The number to 2nd St. Precinct just rang and rang and rang…..
Use 911.
or 646-5100
And we are in the 3rd precinct.
2 guys in a new large Ford F-150 were parkedin front of my house in Stratford Hills. The one guy was looking at the house and trees. I couldn’t tell if they were looking to make a quick buck cutting down trees for fire wood or were casing the joint.
Use your phone to take picture of suspicious people/vehicles. Get a license number. If my neighbor had done that, the guy who robbed our house could have been caught.
