Traffic Signal Improvement Project
to begin on Forest Hill Avenue

WHO: City of Richmond Department of Public Works
WHAT: Traffic signal improvements
WHEN: Monday, November 7 through Wednesday, February 29, 2012
WHERE: This project will take place at the following intersections:
· Forest Hill Avenue at Chippenham WJCT Ramp
· Forest Hill Avenue at Powhite exit ramp
· Forest Hill Avenue at Jahnke Road
· Forest Hill Avenue at Westover Hills Boulevard

BACKGROUND: The following improvements will be made to improve motorist and pedestrian safety. There may be temporary sidewalk and traffic lane closures during portions of the construction.

SCOPE OF WORK: The following improvements will significantly improve motorist and pedestrian safety:
· Installation of new mast arm signal poles and pedestrian pedestal poles
· Installation of pedestrian countdown indicators
· Installation of new wheelchair ramps
· Installation of underground conduits
· New painted pavement markings
· Sidewalk restoration
