New Menu Unveiled At Parkside Cafe

A taste of the lunch menu
As of yesterday, Parkside Cafe has adjusted their menu (full versions below) and it looks tasty. They’ve added chicken and dumplings to the dinner menu and that alone will bring me in. That is not the only change going on. Date night on Tuesdays, Jazz on Wednesdays and improved beer selection are some of the other changes you’ll notice, when you stop by. On the beer front, currently Parkside is serving Blue Moon Seasonal, Sam Adams, Duck Rabbit Stout, and Anchor Steam. Next week there will additional beers from Uncommon Brewers based in California and some Epic Brewery beers out of Utah. I’ve never had brew from either of these brewers so I’m looking forward to sampling.

Today would be a perfect day for a cup of that gumbo I saw on the lunch menu.

Looks delicious!
Do they have a web site? I Googled but didn’t find anything…
No website that I know of, only the Facebook page that I link to.
Thanks Richard!
CHICKEN & DUMPLINGS!!!! Andy and I are SO there.
My husband and I had our own date night at Parkside on Thursday, and we had a great time. Brian’s other restaurant Patina has been our favorite special-occasion place for a while, so we’re really happy to have Parkside on the southside. The caesar from Patina has made it to Parkside (slightly different dressing though), and the beet salad had generous portions of beets, goat cheese, and greens (little beet salads are so disappointing). My husband had the root beer ribs (Brian makes the root beer – Patina has root beer floats sometimes, mmm) and he said they were tender and delicious. I had the bean and queso fresco tamales, which were unusual and amazing. Usually the corn meal mixture on tamales is more dense, but these were fluffy, just moist enough, and very fragrant of cumin. Served with candied onions, pico de gallo, and house-made hot sauce. Seriously, all the little extra touches and the impeccable service make this place such a deal, you get all the trappings of a really fancy place but a reasonably priced menu.
Ate @ Parkside Friday night and had a wonderful meal. I ate Root Beer glazed ribs – amazingly moist and tender. My friend ate Buttermilk Chicken and loved it as well. New beer selections are great. Service, as usul, was wonderful. Co-owner and chef, Milton, and his entire staff are working really hard please their loyal customers, and to entice new customers to the restaurant. If you haven’t been there yet, you have been missing great food!
Went to Parkside and noticed they had a “new menu”. Gone were the Samosas and other delights but thankfully, the new items I had were great as well. For $1, the sweet potato buscuits (you get 5) with pepper jelly and honey butter might be the best bargain on the planet! I had a cup of mushroom bisque and the risotto of the day as well. All supurb. My date had an arugala salad w/ goat cheese. Glad the banana beignets are still on the menu!
