Beloved Local Teacher Dies Over Weekend

Over the Weekend Phil Pollard a teacher at Richmond Waldorf School died as the result of a stroke suffered on Thursday. There is a short obituary in the RTD but this story at Knoxville.com does a much better job of telling you who Phil was and the impression he left on those he knew and taught.

5000 Block New Kent Not Closed for Halloween

In a change from recent tradition the 5000 block of New Kent will not be closed this Halloween. In the past it was closed to traffic to allow kids and families free reign on this block, not this year. No word on the reason for the change.[via Westover Hills Neighborhood Association Website]
