Help Out A Westover Hills Elementary Class

Thanks to a Tweet by @lindseyprather I’ve found out about Ms. Prather’s 2nd Grade class at Westover Hills Elementary. Ms. Prather has set up a project with DonorsChoose.Org and is looking for some help supplying her students with some basic materials. She is hoping to get  8 packs of colored paper and 2 types of stickers so that her students can be rewarded for their good behavior. You can make a donation of $10 or more to help out the kids.

To adults, a sticker or a piece of paper may not seem like much of a reward, but to students, these items open up a world of possibilities! Kindergarten through 2nd grade students just love stickers. There is no way of getting around it! So, each time they are following the rules in music class, a sticker shows their classroom teacher, peers, and parents what a nice job they did! Older students receive music notes, which are reward certificates I designed on my computer and copy on colored paper. They collect them throughout the year, and are able to redeem them for trips to the music prize bin. It may seem small, but with budget cuts occurring all over, the small things are the first to go.
