Chimney 0 – Lightning – 1

One of the casualties of last night’s storm. This chimney on the 5200 block of Caledonia was hit fairly early in the storm. The noise and light caused by the strike was intense, my house is within sight of the house hit. RFD units responded quickly. Thankfully the only damage was some smoke damage to the first floor. The RTD reported other issues including flooding and power outages.

In case you’ve forgotten what a fallen down tree looks like, I posted two below. This tree fell on the 3400 block of Dundee right around the corner from Crossroads and Parkside.

The second tree was submitted by Sherri and went down in the 600 block of W. 20th. Sherri also reports a big pine on the 500 block that uprooted and is now resting on a front porch roof.
