Where The Power Crews are Working
List of where Dominion Power crews are working today. Anybody seeing Dominion trucks in their area? I haven’t seen anything around the 5000 blocks of King William. There is suppose to be an update around 12 by Dominion updating when they hope to have the power back on but I won’t be by a computer so if someone can post in the comments what is said that would be great.
According to the twitter:
UPDATE: Dominion will restore power to 90-95 percent of the customers affected by Irene-related outages by the end of the day Friday.

They also said 75% by Wednesday. Hope we are in the 75%, but there are some parts of Westover Hills that need new poles and they could be a while.
Just got an email with this post from Facebook:
“Forest Hill Friends…police just stopped us to tell us they’re looking for a suspect who is scoping houses in our neighborhood. Keep your eyes open!”
I guess peoples good nature only last for so long after a natural disaster.
Any details on the person scoping houses? — description of person or vehicle?
Dominion also said: “Nearly all customers in the remaining areas, which suffered the most extreme damage, will have their electric service restored by the end of the day Saturday.”
I’m assuming this is the 5 – 10% that don’t get fixed by Friday. I’m not sure what it takes to get into the “most extreme damage” category, but I know Westover Hills took a real beating.

you can call dominion at 866.366.4357. if you call from the number associated with your account they will give you an update as to when to expect the power to be restored. they told me between 5-11 tonight, i’m on 46th street. crossing my fingers!
I live on New Kent – VEPCO update this morning said power would be restored between 5 and 11PM tonight. Holding my breath.
I’m on Taylor Ave – Dominion has been telling us “today between 5-11 PM” every day since Sunday. Same story today. So I’m not sure how reliable the estimates from Dominion can be considered at this point.
Finally had my first sighting of two power trucks driving into Westover Hills on Dorchester around 8:30am this morning…cautiously optimistic, but VA Dom has been telling us 5-11pm today every day since Sunday, so I’ll believe it when I see it.
Some folks on Sylvan just got their power back on. Hopefully the crews in the hood will keep making their way through
47th and 48th streets appear to have power back as of 7:30 tonight.
Saw power trucks in the parking lot at SuperFlea. Hope they were heading over to Bliley Road!
Dominion’s work crew location list for today shows Westover Hills Blvd, New Kent Rd., and Devonshire…I’m not getting too excited though.
