Another Woman Accuses David Hathcock

The new claims, made during a sworn pre-trial deposition last week, come days before city lawyers are to return to court, seeking again to end former liasion Jennifer Walle’s civil suit alleging workplace retaliation by Graziano and battery by Hathcock.
In her deposition last Wednesday, Dena Fultz said that she told Graziano by October 2010 that Hathcock allegedly had kissed her inappropriately during a June 2010 meeting at Fultz’s home. It was unclear in the deposition whether Hathcock was there during his work hours. She also accuses him of excessively emailing her, calling her and driving by her house as well as of leaving presents on her porch, according to the deposition.
Hathcock served as Graziano’s aide until July 29, when he announced his retirement. It was the day after Fultz was added to the witness list in Walle’s civil suit.
But he’s innocent, right? Both of these women are just trying to ruin him, right? Personal vendettas against The Fourth District Hero, right? Sigh.
Clearly this is all Bruce Tyler’s fault, or perhaps even mine. I guess if Fultz read the H&H commentariat enough, she’d know to just shut up and take one for he team.
Veronica & Area Man you are putting words into many folks mouths. The recent accusations have changed my opinion on the subject of Hathcock and Graziano but the tone you use in the comments to the readers of this blog have done nothing to change my opinion of you.

It’s these mentalities that should be kept in the 1950′s “Area Man” – Women should never need be afraid to step up to the injustices of bullying!!! It’s a comfort to know we live in a time where humanity can FINALLY step up and speak the truth about being harassed, discriminated, abused, shamed, embarrassed and made to feel guilty by some creep – a mere school yard BULLY! This isn’t anyone’s fault but his own and those who protected him and his lies…..
So I guess the feeling’s mutual?

ALLEGED bullying. An accusation is not the same as proof.
I for one will continue to try to keep an open mind about Mr. Hathcock’s guilt or innocence regarding these allegations of inappropriate behavior.
Hathcock is a creep. I was interested in getting involved by volunteering for KG until I saw how he looked me up and down when I introduced myself over a year ago. I’m glad I didn’t give an address or email for him to “follow up” on.

Area Man, you’re clearly just trying to pick fights which is not productive or even entertaining. If people didn’t jump to condemning David Hathcock, that does not mean they were casting aspersions on your religious views, or on the truthfulness of Jennifer Walle, or demanding that any victim should remain quiet. They’re not even attacking you or your opinions!
I had many reasons not to jump to judgement. 1) Innocent until proven guilty still holds 2) The timing of the first public announcements of the incident was seriously fishy. Marty Jewell had an agenda to prevent Graziano from remaining Council President. He used it again to distract during the budget approval process. And 3) I don’t have all the information necessary to render judgement but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
Unfortunately, this latest news makes it clear that it was not an isolated incident that a politician milked for his own gain.
You don’t seem particularly interested in the women in this case, just that you have a personal hatred of David Hathcock. No one has called you any names or disparaged your opinions, only your nasty tone of voice. Stop trying to bait people.

Has anyone in the community or media read the details of Dena Fultz’ deposition? On two separate occasions Graziano flat out lied and attempted to cover up the Hathcock/Walle episode. Additionally two other women have expressed similar experiences with Graziano’s right arm,and one work with Friends of Forest Hill Park, but were afraid to come forward. Ms G is a controlling, manipulative, and perjurorous public servant that serves no one but her own self interests. Her protection of the sick individual David Hathcock in beyond reproach. Justice was NOT served today…merely a lesson in power vs. those without! Wakeup RVA!!!

Not that you will take this well but I think your most recent post only serves to reinforce Pages’ point. Secondly, I don’t see how any of this conversation has anything to do with religious views. Thirdly, atheist or not doesn’t change being an a$$hole, which you are doing a good job of. I’ve seen your posts on things before and I think you have some good points (traffic on Clarence, etc) but if you don’t lighten up I for one would advocate for H&H banning you from posting. There just simply isn’t room for disparaging commentary that is ultimately counterproductive. Sometimes more words say less….in this instance it appears you may have been right in your assessment of someones character, but remember, there’s statistically an equal number of correct idiots on either side of an issue, that doesn’t mean they have contributed to the debate, just that a stopped clock is going to be right twice a day either way. Please improve your tone for everyone’s sake if you would like to be afforded the respect you expect.
AreaMan… Your inference is way off base. I made a forthright comment and asked a very straightforward question.
Men look women up and down all the time. Pizzagirl does not describe behavior that is in any way unique to Mr. Hathcock, so I wonder why he *appears* to have been singled out for the ‘creep’ designation.
This is a fundamental reason why I question Miss Walle’s rationale as well. Based on what I have read, she received an abundance of unwanted attention from more than one man at City Hall (including her own boss if I recall) and yet she apparently dealt with those quietly and privately, whereas Mr. Hathcock was singled out.
Was it because ‘he asked for it’ by being older, less attractive, wearing glasses, having a hearing impairment, being an aide to a political rival?
I realize that I will raise some hackles with that last comment, but my intent is not to characterize Walle as hypocritical.
On the surface at least, there are some inconsistencies that I feel compelled to point out.

You may not like what AreaMan had to say or the way he said it, but he has a much right to comment on this board as you do. This is a forum for people to express their opinions. Although you may not agree with his opinion, that doesn’t make it any less relevant. When you start talking about banning folks from a pubic forum just because you don’t like what they have to say, that’s going a bit too far IMHO.

@SEW …maybe banning someone isn’t an option but shaming them for their poor taste and lack of civilized discourse is necessary in my opinion. One time I understand but really? Making a joke about slut shaming? It’s not funny and doesn’t add to the conversation and he should be ashamed to even feel remotely entitled to any respect from his neighbors when this is the best commentary that can be offered. Disgusting, the jokes are almost just as foul as the accusations.

Well…I, for one, would be instantly repulsed. Attraction OVER!! You look a woman up and down, do it with discretion, not as a come on. It’s gross and flat rude. Character observation there….would be he’s a total creep.
I have daughters and have worked for more than 40 years. IT should take more than one womam’s accusation to damage a man who has dedicated his life to public service. What ever happened to innocent until proven guilty? Please do not let your personal prejudices and experiences cause you to judge a man with whom you have no personal experience. I am a professional woman and if I judged every man who has given me the eye as “an abuser” or as “sexual harrassement”, I would have no male professional aquaintances.
