New Owner of Paradise
RichmondMagazine.com has the story about Chef Phil Minor’s (formerly of Great Seasons) take over of local breakfast favorite Paradise Diner. According to the article the change in ownership went down little over 2 weeks ago. I was out of town so this is all news to me but I’m excited to try out the new offerings.
“I’m just trying to take what they did really well here and make it even better,” Minor says of the almost 5-year-old diner, known for its country-fried steak, corned-beef hash, scrapple and eggs, tuna melts, pigs in a blanket, and apple cobbler.
While he’s kept the interior of the restaurant the same, Minor has made some big changes in the kitchen. He hopes to offer five-star dining at only a fraction of the cost.
Any early reports?

I always enjoyed Paradise, but if we could have a Southside version of Dot’s Back Inn, I’d be ecstatic. Diner/pub fare taken up a notch or two.
Page speaks my mind.
MAB! hahahaha!
Ooh Ooh, maybe they’ll put in a credit card reader. They lost my business after one visit by staying in the dark ages and only accepting cash. NOBODY carries cash anymore.
Why would I wanna go to Paradise for 5 Star dining? Wait, why would I wanna go anywhere for 5 star dining?
If it cost 1 Star why not? I didn’t go this weekend but didn’t see any changes at all in staff, menu or food last weekend.
