Float the River this Saturday
Once again Phil “Mr. James” Riggan clued me into a river event. This time he let’s us all know about a three-hour innertube float down the James Saturday afternoon from Main Area West to Reedy Creek sponsored by James River Park. The tubers will meet in the Reedy Creek lot at 2 p.m. and expect to be back by 5 p.m. Make reservations by calling 646-8911. The cost is a measly $5.
Bob through riffles, pools and small rapids among waterfowl and interesting water plants in a remote-seeming part of the river. Some walking to the put in. Tubes, lifejackets and guides provided. Must be able to swim, wear sneakers, and above age 12. Reservations required. Park at HQ office (Reedy Creek Entrance) 4001 Riverside Drive.

Great event! Now, let’s just hope the tubers PARK in the Reedy lot, not just MEET there
