Richmond Magazine Goes to Market
Richmond Magazine.com restaurant reviewer Karen Cauthen Miller and her 12-year-old daughter, Halle talk about what they like at South of the James Farmers’ Market. First up Halle;
There is a really cool new food cart called “Meat on the Street” too, where you can buy a really huge, delicious hamburger. I like the eggs and sausage, but you have to get there early because sometimes Henry Reidy (the owner) sells out of the breakfast items. My mom likes to visit her friend Dena at the Blanchard’s coffee stand. We have meals at the farmers market all the time. Nate’s Tacos is another favorite of mine. He sells soft-shell tacos with whatever meat you want and I think they are the best in Richmond. Cielito Lindo and Crossroads Coffee & Ice Cream are also there.
Now let’s check out Karen’s take;
I did an article once for a big-time magazine and spent an entire year going to farmers markets all over the state. Having said that, the South of the James is one of the best. The people, the vibe, the selection, the location all combine for a fabulous experience.
Much more in the full article.

Wow, how incestuous. Karen Cauthen Miller’s daughter commenting on her aunt Tanya Cauthen’s “Meat on the Street.” Henry Reidy is Tanya Cauthen’s husband.
Question: So, why does the Meat on the Street guy getting so much publicity?
ANSWER: His sister-in-law writes food reviews for Richmond magazine!
Folks that’s not right.
You are taking offense at 2 sentences in a much larger article (35 sentences) that was written nearly 2 months ago. I see absolutely nothing wrong with what was written. I’m a missing some larger Meat on the Street conspiracy? I suspect there is more to this comment than meats the eye. I never sausage a thing.
You’re good, Richard!
It is an inappropriate use of her position with Richmond Magazine for Karen Cauthen Miller to promote her sister’s (Tanya Cauthen) business, Meat on the Street.
According to the license, Tanya Cauthen is the majority owner of this business.
You might want to comment on the original article at richmondmagazine.com since they’re unlikely to know what you think from this blog.
Who cares who writes for any publication?!?!? The food is really good and I think that speaks for itself. Obviously, it appears you have personal issues.
As Richard said it best, “I never sausage a thing”
Hey Matt, the point of the post was Reidy was getting preferential treatment/publicity/consideration from his sister-in-law, who is on staff at Riohmond Magazine. A “professional” writer would not compromise their “profesional” integrity by promoting a family relation through their employer’s publication.
And, as for personal issues, we all have them. Why don’t you “Bare” your soul and share your’s?
