Shooting On Dunston
The shooting happened on the 4100 block of Dunston Avenue around midnight.
Richmond Police say they received calls about gunfire in the area and that a witness reportedly saw a man in a white SUV wearing a mask.
Officials say that about an hour later a man driving a white SUV showed up at a local hospital with a gunshot wound to his leg.
At last word, he was in surgery, but there has been no word on his condition.
Police say they are working to figure out exactly what happened.

Would it to be too much to hope the guy in the SUV was planning some activity for which he wished to remain anonymous, then shot himself in the leg?
Considering how vague the description is, he probably planned some activity for which he wished to remain anonymous that got him shot in the leg.
I live on 43rd right near dunston and i heard those shots right aroung midnite or so. I heard 8 shots in rapid fire semi auto mode. I called the police.
a full clip was emptied, so there was definitely more than one person involved.
We also called and live just a few houses up. There were 12 shots fired in all. One gun. No double taps, just consistent empty the clip trigger pulling. We kind of hoped that he was doing something not nice and someone else “put him in his place” and got him.
Went for a run this morning and there is broken glass on the ground so something hit the window.
Great response by the Police. Glad they were able to track the driver down. Keep up the good work RPD!
