Free Veggies for Providing a Frog Bottom Farm CSA Pick-up Spot

Saw this on the Woodland Heights Yahoo Group and I know there is someone out there that could help out.

We’re sorry to be writing to you so late. But our planned pick-up spot for Forest Hill has fallen through and so we’re writing to see if any of you are interested in hosting the pick-up at your home, or at a good location (like a church or school or ammenable business). Any site needs to be safe and have parking available.

Compensation is ONE FULL SHARE in the CSA.

You’d need to be available from about 3:30-7:15 every Wednesday, and responsibilities include:

• setting up the tent and tables and arranging the vegetables and signs
• keeping the bins stocked (sometimes you can’t put all the vegetables on the table to start with, so you’ll keep the extra under the table and restock as necessary)
• answering basic questions (we’re reachable by cell phone to help out)
• passing along any questions you don’t know the answers to, as well as any other helpful notes, at the end of the day
• breaking down the tent and tables at the end of the pick-up so that the Frog Bottom crew member who comes back for them in the evening can load them into our van quickly
• assisting in consolidating extra produce left at the end of the pick-up for easy pick-up by the community organization we donate to (details TBA)
• You’ll need to be able to lift 25-30 lbs.

Someone can definitely do the job solo, but it’s also a great thing for families to share. A parent and younger children could do it, or it could also be a great job for a responsible highschooler. Alternatively, a small group can rotate the responsibilities, and collect the food each time they staff the drop-off.
