From the Forest Hill Neighborhood watch;
We’ve had some criminal activity in the neighborhood. Please be on the lookout for suspicious people during the day and evening and call police at 646-5100 for non-emergency or 911 for emergency situations.

- April 14 – Several neighborhood watch signs in Forest Hill and Westover Hills, have been tagged with a spray-painted black “R” recently. 4500 block of Reedy, westbound lane, and on Devonshire near Dr. Toler’s office on Westover Hills Boulevard.
- May 1 – Around 0230 this morning some guys were working the area around the 1000 block of W. 45th St. trying car doors and taking things. The police were notified and were in the neighborhood by about 0240.
- May 1 – someone stole the copper downspouts from a home in the 4300 block of Forest Hill Avenue over the weekend.
- May 6 – around 12:30 in the morning a tall male was seen leaving a neighbor’s backyard at the corner of Forest Hill and Taylor. He jumped into a large black pick up truck and sped away.
In Woodland Heights there are reports of a Honeywell/Vector/AMP salesperson going around. He is an authorized contractor but is being very aggressive in his tactics and in some cases trying to scare folks into giving information or signing up for alarm systems. His main office has been notified.

Additionally, the solicitor is asking neighbors if they knew the Harveys and trying to use that angle to sell his product, which is reprehensible and a lot of other words Richard probably wouldn’t print.
Thanks Anne I forgot to mention that bit bile and completely agree with your statement.
Yes I had the same solicitor from Vector, very very pushy and aggressive, had to ask him to leave my front yard.
If he comes to my house I will use some words not fit for print.
I taught my students ethics and standards in my journalism class at Huguenot. One issue we had to face was when to include race or ethicity in a story about criminal activity. The standard is to include race when a more complete discription is available, e.g. height, weight, hair color, facial hair, clothing or a combination. In these postings, don’t be timid to include race if other descriptive elements are available. This comment is not referring to any poster above but is offered as a guideline for future postings.
That would be “ethnicity” – Bad typing.
