You May Have a New Senator and/or House Delegate
The joys of redistricting are upon us. Although the city hasn’t finished their redistricting the state has and many of you in the H&H area that were in the Senate District 9 are now in Senate District 10 and many of you that were in House of Delegates District 70 are now in District 69.
The graphic below best demonstrates which areas have switched over when it comes to Senate Districts. If you live in the pink area you used to be in District 9 but now you are in District 10. Click on the map for more details.
The current Senator for District 9 is Donald McEachin (D) and your new Senator as part of District 10 is John Watkins (R). This addition combined with District 10 losing large swaths of the county means that District 10 is now +7.5% Democratic
On the House of Delgates side of things District 69 Betsey Carr (D) now has the entire Southbank of Richmond and is now +1.1% Democratic. She picked up all the area highlighted in blue in the map below. That blue are used to be part of District 70 Delores L McQuinn (D).Click the map for more details.
District 68 Manoli Loupassi (R) is a little more complicated as you can see below but the end result is +3.1% Republican.
Thanks to John at Fan of the Fan for doing his area and motivating me to head to Virginia Public Access and figure out exactly what is going on in our area.
