Water Main Break on Mayo – South Bound Closed

In the continuing effort to isolate the Southbank of Richmond the city has taken the unusual step of flooding Mayo Bridge. Lanes going into the city are open but don’t expect to come back that way anytime soon.

The southbound lanes of the Mayo Bridge in Richmond were closed this morning because of a water main break.

The southbound lanes were closed shortly before 6 a.m., and authorities said it was not immediately clear how long it would take for repairs.

Northbound commuters headed into downtown Richmond were still able to use the bridge.[via RTD]

Ironically the city held a meeting last night to discuss repairing or replacing Mayo Bridge.
