Jewell Requesting 500k for Patrick Henry
From an email supplied by PHSSA we hear that Councilman Marty Jewell on Monday is going to propose that $500,000 be allocated to the Patrick Henry School. This is only a request and the council is under no obligation to fulfill the request but it looks like the parents of Patrick Henry are rallying the troops to show support of the request during the council meeting. Copy of the email received earlier today;
We Need Parents to come to City Council Monday, May 2nd at 6pm
It is URGENT that families, friends and neighbors show up in support of Patrick Henry at the next City Council meeting. $500,000 hangs in the balance! Councilman Marty Jewel is requesting this money go to PHSSA to help renovate the school building on Semmes. We will increase our chances of getting the money if we show City Council how much we care about our school. Please make every effort to go to City Hall, 2nd floor this Monday night at 6 pm. You can receive volunteer hours for this event. If you cannot make the event, please send an email or make a call to your council representative expressing your support for PHSSA and the allocation of these funds.PS. Live in Marty Jewel’s district? Get your neighbors involved! A renovated and active school adds to the neighborhood!

Wow, here I thought this was a late April fool’s post. While I am very surprised, I truly appreciate whatever support Mr. Jewell can offer PHSSA.
And PHSSA could still use your support, Ben. Please take a moment to email or call your city council rep. Even better, come to the meeting Monday. We need to show how the community supports this proposal! http://www.richmondgov.com/CityCouncil/contacts.aspx
Page I will be out of town on Monday, but I have attended Council/school board meetings previously. I’ll be happy to shoot an email out.
Hmmmm. Is there an election coming up next year?
