Free Mulch Courtesy of Patrick Henry
This weekend parents and friends of Patrick Henry School are working on some playground improvements. Step 1 in the process will be to remove the old material from underneath the current play structures. This material has been around for quite a few years and the lower levels have decayed. Their decay is your gain. If you are in need of some organic material for your flower beds or gardens you can come by on Saturday and take as much as you can haul. I’ve been told that this is not the most nutrient rich compost material and that you will need to add some lime to make it truly beneficial for your plantings. You can pick up the mulch at Patrick Henry School on Semmes on Saturday. If you come before 3 p.m. you will be asked to load it yourself. If you come after 3 p.m. you may (emphasis on may) be able to get loaded up with the onsite Bobcat. A great way to “pay” for the mulch would be to spend a few hours helping out and getting the school’s playground ready for play.
