Patrick Henry Gets a Clean Bill of Financial Health
Chris Dovi and Richmond Magazine.com have all the details but PHSSA received kudos for it’s finances for the period of time between the summer 2009 and July 2010. Not only was the school given a clean bill of financial health but Susan Martin the former treasurer was cited for her competence. Susan Martin is currently suing Reggie Malone for defamation. Mr. Malone has publicly questioned Ms. Martin credentials.
“Over the last two years, PHSSA had heard from several outside entities … that they were impressed with the accounting systems that were already implemented,” Larson says. “ PHSSA was fortunate to have a professional CPA acting as treasurer for us prior to the school opening. We heard from charter school experts that few start-up charters have such financial controls and procedures in place prior to their schools being open.”

Something for the rest of RPS to emulate.
Yay for PHSSA and Susan Martin!
And today Reggie Malone was handing out a 3 week old letter from RPS at the carpool lane this morning. To what purpose? I can only imagine that he’s trying to deflect the attention away from his less-than-seemly behavior.
Well done PHSSA!
This example of financial management is exactly why RPS should be doing everything in its power to assist and nurture PHSSA. Instead, they have a history of doing everything but. Maybe RPS should hire Susan Martin.
Susan Martin is one of the most scrupulous people you will ever meet. Susan, can you take over my finances?! Congrats for being recognized for the wonderful work you have done for Patrick Henry Elementary SChool of Science and Arts
