Baker Fights City Hall and Wins

But as of Tuesday afternoon, after a busy day visiting various departments at Richmond City Hall, McIntyre is the proud owner of a business license and a certificate of occupancy for his kitchen. These he adds to the tax identification number that he’s been using for the past three years, since starting his bakery business, to pay state and federal taxes.

“There’s no problem — the only problem is that it really was a problem of miscommunication, of misinformation,” McIntyre says.
