Parkside Menu Leaked to Richmond.com
Well despite my semi-best efforts Karri Peifer of Richmond.com got the scoop on long dormant Parkside Cafe’s possible awakening. She has been given a copy of the menu and reports a opening date of “soon”. On the plus side this soon doesn’t mean summer of 2011 but much sooner. As expected no date was given. High end menu items run $18 and below is a tidbit of what Karri has released. The link will give more menu items and a look at the fine beverage choices.
- tandoori chicken with chana dal and mango chutney
- crispy tofu with ponzu reduction, sesame-ginger soba noodles, and baby bok choy
- shiitake and spinach risotto, with oven-roasted tomato ragout and shaved parmesan (handful of lettuce, dressed)
- handmade papardelle with bacon, tomato, peas, and cream
- apple dumplings with cherrywood bacon ice cream and maple drizzle

Oh Richard, you never had a chance. I can out-stalk most people. :)
So basically the same as Crust and Cream lol.
Nothing at all wrong with Bacon Ice Cream
Menu sounds pretentious. I’ll give it a try sometime, definitely brunch!
That’s what I was thinking at first, but I’ll bet burgers and take away fare will have legs.
Hmmm–I guess one person’s pretentious is another person’s inventive.
Chicken w/ beans
Noodles w/ tofu
Rice w/ spinach
Noodles w/ tomato & bacon
Apples w/ icecream
Not very pretentious, when you think about it!
I cannot wait for this place to open. While I love a good burger and some potato skins at O’Toole’s and takeout pizza from Maldini’s, I crave a higher end option in the ‘hood. Hurry up, Brian!
YUCK!!!
I’ll take what you call “pretentious” over the Crust and Creme anytime! Have tried that place twice, once for a sub and once for pizza, will never go back. I welcome the Parkside and my bet is it will be worth the wait!
