Best River Spot in RVA

Richmond.com’s continuing series of Bests in Richmond heads to the river and as you would expect quite a few spots that I claim to be in the H&H area are on the list. Head over there to cast your vote and bring home the gold for the Southbank. Bits and pieces of their post are listed below.

Belle Isle
Large, flat rocks are perfect for sun-bathing and swimming. Wooded trails are popular with mountain bikers. And there’s even a wall for rock climbing.

Pony Pasture
Lots of big, flat rocks are perfect for sunbathing, catching a quick nap or having a picnic. Mini-rapids are also fun to swim and slide down.

Reedy Creek
It’s a great spot to start exploring the many trails and beaches of the James River Park System. A popular tubing route also runs from Pony Pasture to Reedy Creek.

Huguenot Flatwater
With free parking, a boat ramp and multiple trails through the riverbanks, it provides a relaxing place to hike, boat or swim.
