Nice! 15 min to 7th and Main streets with streetcars running every five mins. Well my work is at the corner of 7th and main and I have to say I don’t think it has been an improvement to our city to forgo the public transportation. Takes me longer to drive to work (as I did today, wimped out on the bicycle) and I still have to pay to park and find a spot. Funny how in 1906 we were in better shape than today.
@Willis, the 63 bus will take you to 8th and Main in about 20 minutes starting at the park. Streetcar would have been cooler, though. And the bike ride this morning wasn’t too bad; a little icy crossing the bridge.
I like the ‘no swamps, no mosquitos, no miasma’. Ahh, the glory days of Forest Hill.

Thanks for the info Jan. I didn’t know that the Library of Va. and the Va. Newspaper Project contributed that much. Nicely done.

I miss streetcars and subways. they make it soooo much easier to get around.
