Legend in the Running for Best Restaurant With View
Richmond.com is finding the various best spots in RVA and this week they’re letting you decide the Best Restaurant With View. Below is what they have to say about Legend;
Plenty of people head to Legend for the beer, but we go for the view. Legend offers a one-of-a-kind view of downtown Richmond from its skyline deck overlooking the river. Richmond never looked so pretty with its twinkling lights and sweeping bridges. Plus Legend brews their own microbrew and you can get everything from lager to golden IPA. But the question is: Now that the Boathouse opened on Rocketts Landing, does Legend still have the best view in town?
This category used to be a shoe-in for Legend but Boathouse offers some serious competition. I would like to point out that Boathouse is technically not barely in the city so should not even be in the running. Yes this is nit picking and petty but hey, I’ve got to defend the Southbank. As of 11:10 4:45 today, Legend is losing by 17 12%.

Well, I guess you can see the River if you stand up on your chair and look over the industrial metal… or are very very tall. Legend won’t get my vote.
All of the homes at Rocketts Landing are in Henrico County, but The Boathouse is located in the City of Richmond! With the Conch Republic opening next door to the Boathouse in just two months, there will soon be another restaurant in the running.
Thanks for the clarification RL. I fixed the post.
Isn’t that building defunct now? Man I wish I had the money to buy some flood wall/riverfront real estate on the South Side. Richmonders are craving more bars and restaurants with a view. That spot at the corner of Semmes and 7th would be a good one. Too bad railroads hog so much of Richmond’s riverfront.
The view of the river from the Boathouse is nice, but looking to the south beyond the trees is most unappetizing. I can’t believe they built this restaurant looking out to the City SEWAGE TREATMENT PLANT! Yuck!
I liked this old idea of putting a baseball stadium in Manchester. It will never happen but a cool idea.
Maybe if it was reworded: “Best View with a Restaurant”.
diner — I agree, I was excited to go to the Boathouse after it opened up, and the day I went for drinks after work, the wind was blowing in the wrong direction, if you get my drift :) Haven’t been back.
