Leaf Pickup Update
As you might have guessed leaf pickup that was scheduled for today is on hold due to weather. The trucks are converting to sanding since the rain is suppose to turn to snow tonight. Don’t panic we aren’t expecting a ton of snow but enough that some roads may need to be treated.
I’ve been asked to share this:
DPW has gotten some complaints from a few residents stating their streets are not clean following the vacuum removal of their leaves. We are not doing residential street cleaning at this time. The main objective during leaf collection is to collect the piles of leaves and get them out of the gutter line so the water can flow freely and the drainage system is not clogged with leaves. We are accomplishing that mission. We will try to remove as much as we can during the vacuuming process, but the primary goal is to get the leaves. Again, we’re not cleaning residential streets right now.

Why does the city bother scheduling the leaf collection in the winter?
They only get cancelled anyways.
Well, I still have the backyard to get out there. Do we know if they have another scheduled pick up or has the budget ended second pick ups forever?
