Solstice Celebration at Belle

From JRNH;

The James River Park System staff and the Friends of the James River Park are welcoming Winter Solstice today with a celebratory bonfire on Belle Isle starting at 4:45 p.m. It’s not often that one could legally experience a bonfire on Belle Isle, which should be reason enough for most river lovers to come out.

The view of the downtown skyline at night  from Belle Isle and the pedestrian bridge should be worth the trip. The bonfire is planned to be lit in a pit the clearing at the end of the pedestrian bridge under the Robert E. Lee Bridge, according to Friends of the James River. There may be cider and there will be hot water available, so bring your cocoa mix. No alcohol is permitted.
