In the togo cup….At Local Java Joints
In the togo cup… is a new local blogger (I think he or she is Southbank) who spends a fair amount of time at coffee shops and is now writing about his/her experience. Categories that are used to describe each place include but are not limited to; parking – parking lot or “fan” like?, coffee- good, bad or mugly?, art – rotating or fixture?, hi-fi – wi-not or wi-bother?
Two local favorites are examined and both get a thumbs up.
- TaZa – “Because the entrance is in the back of the building, it’s not very decorative and at first visit I feel like I’m going to a speak easy. Maybe a big guy looking through a slot in the door would make the experience more exciting but, anyway, I go in and up the long flight of steps.”
- Crossroads – “As far as the shop there’s an array of sitting options which will serve any mood, from the “comfy” chair, the sofas and the big table in the front, to the chairs and smaller tables in the back room. Also on days when its not raining they’ll have the tables out side available. The owners are almost always here and their entire staff greet you by name if they know it, this place has that neighborhood coffee shop feel down pack!”

hey! thanx for the shout out! btw, its a “he” on southside.
my goal is to support locally owned coffee shops and their support businesses. and to have new experiences and get out of my “normal” routine. hopefully it’ll encourage folks to find a new experience as well.
thanx a bunch!
