Fourth District Schools Meet and Greet

A great chance for families to check out some local schools is coming up. Check this out before you start pricing houses in the county.
From the office of Kathy Graziano;

Richmond City Council President Kathy Graziano and Fourth District School Board Member Adria Graham Scott have scheduled an unprecedented opportunity for Fourth District parents to learn about the unique offerings and excellent quality of Fourth District Elementary Schools.

On December 7th, at 6 pm, principals from Westover, Fisher and Southampton Schools will present to parents of prospective preschoolers and early grade students the programs available at each of the three schools. It marks the first time in more than 20 years that the Richmond Public School administration has attempted to recruit middle class families into the public schools.

“Our schools are performing at unprecedented levels,” Mrs. Graziano said, “and they offer a real choice for our young parents looking for neighborhood schools. Whether it’s the Spanish immersion program at Southampton, or the Mind Games competition at Fisher, our students are performing in a challenging environment.”

“If every parent of a preschool or early grade child were to enroll in our neighborhood schools, we could fill those schools with children from Fourth District neighborhoods.”

Parents and teachers will make presentations and answer questions from 6 pm to 8 pm at Southampton, located at 3333 Cheverly Road.
