Light it Up
From the Westover Hills Neighborhood Association;
Westover Hills loves to put on its finest as the winter holidays arrive. This year, WHNA will again sponsor a competition to recognize residents for their holiday décor. Awards will be given in the following categories:
- Day decorations. Judging will be done during the day, with one prize for “best door decoration” and one for “best overall exterior.” A third award in the day decorations category is for “best wreath.”
- Night decorations. Judging will be done after dark, with one prize for “best door decoration” and one for “best overall exterior” decor. The third award in the night-time category is for “best tree.”
- Most creative. This category is designed to give judges some flexibility to give recognition to décor that is unusual or special in some way. Creative décor in both night and day categories will be recognized.
Judging will take place between Monday, December 13, and Friday, December 17. All homes within the boundaries of Westover Hills will be viewed, so you don’t have to sign up to “enter.” Just decorate by December 13, and your home will be reviewed by the judges. A sign will be placed in the yards of winning homes, and winners will be recognized in the next issue of the Rag.

I wish I were as clever as Richard, because his immediately prior posting has my hearty endorsement. I also thought the Hannukah posting was informatively and pleasant.
Agree with #3 and #4. I see nothing wrong with promoting efforts to increase the curb appeal of the neighborhood, if it’s done tastefully and resources are used in moderation.
MH- you’d probably be offended by the lack of taste on display in our yard, but the neighborhood kids sure dig it. To#2 I say*pbfpt*. Not all of the categories use electricity at all.
