Westover Hills Library Update – Tentative Open Date
As many of you have noticed our little local library has installed bookshelves. The natural question is, when is it going to re-open. Although no definite date has been officially announced we have heard that the first week in December is very likely. As I said this is not “official” so don’t chase me down if it is pushed out a week or so. I can show you a picture of the inside (more here) and quote from the blog that Clay has been maintaining.

With freshly painted walls, newly installed carpet, and landscaping under way, the renovation project at the branch is entering its final stages. The next phase will include installation of shelving, furniture, and computer technology, as well as return of the collection. Added lighting over the circulation desk and general collection shelving will be installed, the parking lot resurfaced, and numerous other “finishing touches” to round out the project. The library has been through a complete revivification.

Very exciting news – our family has sorely missed our neighborhood library. Looking forward to checking out the space and seeing all those familiar faces once again!
And along with the restoration of the park, the renovation and modernization of the library marks a huge boost to the FH and WH neighborhoods. Thanks to Librarian Harriet Coulter for this project.
Hooray! I miss being able to walk to the library with my kids. We were at the main library downtown this morning, and the children’s librarian said that the books were going to be brought back in next week
Job well done! It looks great.
I just spoke with the administration for the Richmond Public Library and they said, “we’re looking at December 6th” as an opening date for Westover Hills Branch. My kids & I can hardly wait!
